Status: Inactive; Active 2006-2008. Born: 1976-10-19. Birth Place: Busan.

Researcher at Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology; one of two finalists from South Korea for a Soyuz mission in April 2008; hobbies: boxing and mountain-climbing. Selected as prime candidate for Soyuz TMA-12 on 5 September 2007 but replaced by backup Yi So-yeon on 10 March 200, less than a month before the flight, for allegedly removing taking training materials to Korea.
