CAST2000
HJ-1C Credit: Manufacturer Image |
The CAST2000 bus was in the minisatellite class (200-400 kg bus mass; 300-600 kg payload capacity). It was designed for diverse missions, including earth observation, technological demonstration, scientific exploration, earth environmental exploration, formation flight and networking, meteorological research and application, communications, and navigation.
AKA: Double Star;Feng Niao;Gaofen;Huan Jing;Miranda VRSS;SY-5;Tan Ce. Status: Operational 1999. First Launch: 1999-05-10. Last Launch: 2015-09-14. Number: 17 .
The bus combined high performance, expandability and flexibility. It used an S-band TT&C sub-system, X-band data transmission sub-system and 3-axis attitude stabilization. It was capable of highly precise control, large-range sway maneuvers, flexible orbit maneuver, integrated housekeeping and power supply. It was designed to maintain its position in satellite constellations and to support formation flight of small satellites. The bus was successfully used for several Chinese small satellites, and met performance and reliability requirements.
