The CAST1000 bus was a microsatellite class (30-200 kg) platform designed to satisfy missions including earth observation, atmospheric exploration, electromagnetic exploration, technological demonstration, on-orbit service, and LEO communication, while supporting use in satellite constellations
and formation flying.
AKA: Naxing;TANSUO. Status: Operational 2004. First Launch: 2004-04-18. Last Launch: 2012-10-14. Number: 5 .
CAST 1000 bus was a flexible miniature satellite bus. Integration of mechanical, electrical and thermal designs, it used an onboard network to conduct management and control of the complete satellite mission. The bus had high reliability and expandability to meet the requirements single satellite, satellite constellation. and formation flight applications. Three types of CAST 1000 Bus were available, based on total mass: CAST 1000A (30 kg class), CAST 1000B (100 kg class), and CAST 1000C (200 kg class). Applications included the SJ-9 series and Oympic-sat.
