Super Draco
SpaceX hypergolic high-thrust liquid propellant rocket engine built for use in the launch escape system for their Dragon manned spacecraft as well as landing propulsion for the Red Dragon Mars lander. Development completed in 2012. The engine has deep throttling and multiple restart capability. Eight engines would fire at full thrust in a Dragon launch abort scenario. Rated for 25 seconds total burn time, using 1388 kg of propellant.
