German engineer in WW2, member of the Rocket Team in the United States thereafter.

Born: 1911-10-01. Died: 2002-04-01. Birth Place: Horde.

German rocket propulsion engineer at Peenemuende during World War II. Headed the effort to test and debug the V-2 engine production design after the death of Thiel in the August 1943 bombing raid in Peenemuende. Development could not be completed in time, and the complex prototype design went into production instead. Member of the German rocket team, arrived in America under Project Paperclip on 16 November 1945 aboard the Argentina from La Havre. Fluent in English prior to arrival in United States. As of January 1947, working at Fort Bliss, Texas under Project Paperclip. Died at Lexington, Virginia.
