Russian engineer. Deputy Chief Designer of OKB-456. Specialized in rocket engines and succeeded Glushko 1989.

Born: 1920-05-11. Died: 2001-09-13.

Official Biography: Hero of Socialist Labor, Laureate of the Lenin and State Prizes, holder of two Orders of Lenin, two Orders of the Red Banner of Labor, Order of the Badge of Honor, corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Sciences, Chief Designer at NPO Energomash named after Academician V.P.Glushko, an outstanding Scientist and Designer for Liquid Propellant Rocket Engine Development. He made a huge contribution to RD-253 engine development for the Proton launch vehicle, RD-251 and RD-252 engines for R-36 ICBM, RD-264 and RD-268 engines for advanced operational missiles, and RD170/171 for the Energia and Zenit LVs. He worked at the enterprise from 1943 to 1991. He was awarded the Laureate title of the Lenin Prize for his great contribution to RD-214 engine development for R-12 operational missile in 1960.
