Luehrsen, Hannes Gunther
German architect and planner for Peenemuende in WW2, member of the Rocket Team in the United States thereafter until his return to Germany in the 1950's.

Born: 1907-03-13. Died: 1986-01-13.

He was architect and planner for Wernher von Braun's rocket team at the development center in Karlshagen, designing the buildings, roads and other infrastructure in Peenemuende. In March 1944 he was briefly imprisoned with Magnus von Braun and others. He went to America as part of Operation Paperclip, first to Fort Bliss, Texas and then the Redstone Arsenal at Huntsville. There in 1951 he planned the main shopping center and the Parkway, Huntsville's city street. He returned to Germany, passing away in Heidelberg.
