Master of science and Ph.D. in microbiology from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, 1981 and 1984 respectively. Worked in the University of California, Irvine, Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. Assigned as a backup for Shuttle Mission Spacelab-J. Unsuccessful application for NASA astronaut groups 15, 16 and 17.
