Henry A. Kissinger was assistant to the president for National Security Affairs, 1969-1973, and secretary of state thereafter until 1977. In these positions, he was especially involved in international aspects of spaceflight, particularly the joint Soviet/American flight, the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project, in 1975.
