Bachelor of science in engineering science from USAF Academy, 1964; master of science in engineering physics from USAF Institute of Technology, 1974; Lieutenant Colonel, USAF, Ret.; selected in 1987 as SDI-STARLAB-Payload Specialist; he was assigned to the SDI-mission STS-50 (cancelled later); he later worked with Research and Development Associates.
