Winged orbital launch vehicle. Family: Pre-Sputnik Designs. Country: UK. Status: Design 1950. The British Interplanetary Society (BIS) reusable booster concept of 1950 was a 3 stage, rocket, similar to Von Braun concepts of the time. The third stage was a winged vehicle which would use the skip-glide re-entry technique conceived by Saenger.
