| Surface-to-air missile. Year: 1960. Family: Russian SAMs and ABMs. Country: Russia. Manufacturer's Designation: 17D. Prototype air-breathing surface-to-air missile, using air-augmented solid propellant. On 23 June 1960 the first test flight of a two-stage air-breathing surface-to-air missile prototype, the 17D, was conducted. This was a unique air-augmented solid fuel motor concept.
