CEV Spacehab SHM
Part of Orion CEV Family
American manned spacecraft module. Study 2005. The Stowage/Habitation Module (SHM) provided generous living space for the crew during cislunar transit.

Status: Study 2005. Gross mass: 2,500 kg (5,500 lb). Height: 13.70 m (44.90 ft). Diameter: 5.00 m (16.40 ft).

Accommodations included a galley, and stowage. The SHM also had its own attitude control and environmental control systems, providing a back-up to the CEV's primary systems. The SHM would provided a safe haven capability in lunar orbit should the crew be forced off the lunar surface for some reason and had to await rescue aboard the CEV in lunar orbit. . Thermal control would be provided by radiators on the exterior with 2.35 m2 of area. Many metric tons of additional payload could be added to the SHM if a different launch vehicle or mission scenario was used.

Habitable Volume: 174.60 m3. RCS Coarse No x Thrust: 8 x 3 x 440 N. RCS specific impulse: 290 sec. Spacecraft delta v: 2,300 m/s (7,500 ft/sec). Electric System: 2.00 average kW.

Family: Manned spacecraft module. Country: USA. Spacecraft: CEV Spacehab. Propellants: N2O/C3H8.
