Vladimir Ivanovich Samonov Russian Military Officer. Born 1924. Major General, Chief Engineer of GUKOS 1970-1980.

Personal: Male. Born in Russia.

After World War II service, finishing up in Far East, attended Zhukovskiy Academy. In 1955 assigned to Baikonur, where participated in launch of first Sputnik, Vostok, and planetary probes. Responsible for completion of Zenit reconnaissance satellite.
