Personal: Male, Married, Three children. Born in Kiskunfelegyhaza, Hungary. Hungarian Air Force Graduated from Gyorgy Kilian military pilot school, 1969. Graduated from Budapest Technical University, 1986. Hungarian Air Force. Aeronautical engineer and pilot, Hungarian Air Force.

Astronaut Career

Astronaut Group: Intercosmos Group - 1978. Inactive Entered space service: 1 March 1978. Left space service: 3 June 1980.

Involved in space research work.

Magyari Chronology

1 March 1978 - Intercosmos Cosmonaut Training Group selected.. Training group of potential 'guest cosmonauts' for propaganda flights to the Salyut space station. The 'guests', from states allied to the Soviet Union, would be flown on Soyuz lifeboat changeout missions to the station.

26 May 1980 - Soyuz 36. Transported the fifth international crew under the INTERCOSMOS programme, comprising V N Kubasov (USSR) and B Farkas (Hungary) to the Salyut-6 station to carry out scientific research and experiments.
