William C. Keathley came to NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in 1966. He served as the project manager for the Apollo Telescope Mount experiments that were flown on Skylab and as chief of the Skylab Optical Telescope Assembly project. In 1977 he was named manager of the Space Telescope Project (later named the Hubble Space Telescope).
