Palmer Kent Bailey American Payload Specialist Astronaut. Born 27 October 1947.

Personal: Male, Married, Two children. Born in Bismarck, North Dakota, USA. US Army Bachelor of science in geology from University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, 1970. Master of science in geology from University of North Dakota, Fargo, 1980. Bachelor of science in geological engineering from the University of North Dakota, 1980. US Army From 1971 - 1974 served in Germany.

Astronaut Career

Astronaut Group: Payload Specialist. Inactive Entered space service: 25 June 1990. Left space service: 1992. In 1990 he was selected for the TERRA GEODE US Army Project (because of funding reductions the mission was cancelled).

Retired from active duty in 1995. From 1991, a participating scientist in the Bering Glacier Research Group.
