Charles Stuart (Charlie) Ames American Engineer. Born 28 June 1915. Died 9 November 1988. Project Engineer in the MX-774 and early Atlas programs

Ames, son of an iron works machinist, was Project Engineer in the MX-774 and Atlas programs. He was remembered as rock-solid, smart, practical, able to obtain the best designs by trading off inter-departmental concepts.
