American manned spacecraft module. Cancelled 1963. Abort Section, equipped with Thiokol XM-92 Minuteman Stage II motor. Contingency boost.
Used for launch aborts, emergency reentry maneuver, go-around maneuver in case of missed landing approach, and acceleration to supersonic speed when air-launched from B-52.
Crew Size: 1. Spacecraft delta v: 450 m/s (1,470 ft/sec).
