Yaroslav Kirillovich Golovanov Russian Journalist Cosmonaut. Born 2 June 1932. Died 21 May 2003.

Personal: Male, Married, Four children. Born in Moscow, Russia. Natural causes. Civilian Journalist. Graduated from E.N. Bauman Moscow Higher Technical School, Moscow, 1956. Aviation engineer. Later worked for newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda as a civilian journalist.

Astronaut Career

Astronaut Group: Journalist Group - 1965. Deceased Entered space service: 27 June 1965. Left space service: April 1967. Selected in June 1965 for a Voskhod journalist flight, but did not go into official cosmonaut training.

Science correspondent for Komsomolskaya Pravda.

Scheduled to fly in cancelled Voskhod flight.

Aviation engineer. Joined newspaper "Komsomolskaya Pravda". He was selected in June 1965 as cosmonaut candidate. without official cosmonaut training. His last job was as science commentator for "Komsomolskaya Pravda".


Golovanov Chronology

1 January 1965 - Journalist Cosmonaut Training Group selected.. The group was selected to provide trainees for a planned Voskhod spaceflight made with a journalist aboard.
