Rawson Bennett American Engineer. Born 16 June 1905. Died December 1967. Chief of Naval Research from 1956 to 1961

Rawson Bennett became an ensign in the U.S. Navy in 1927, earned an M.S. in electronic engineering at the University of California in 1937, and rose through the ranks to become a rear admiral in 1956. He served as chief of naval research in Washington, D.C., from 1956 through 1961 and then became senior vice president and director of engineering for Sangamo Electric Co. in 1961.
